The city of Lviv hosted the Winter Ukrainian Triathlon (Aquathlon) Championship for Age Groups, which became one of the most large-scale off-season events on the national calendar
Women’s Race
The women’s competition was dominated by Dana Soroka of Lviv, who confirmed her status as one of Ukraine’s leading athletes. Soroka recently concluded her international season at World Triathlon Cup events in Chile, where she proved competitive against elite opposition and added valuable points to her world ranking.
In the swimming pool, Soroka was simply untouchable. On the run, however, she was pushed hard by Margaryta Menshikova from the Donetsk region, who ultimately secured the silver medal. The fight for third place in the overall standings unfolded between Mariia Ivashchenko of Poltava and Kateryna Kyrylovych of Zhytomyr, with Ivashchenko carrying a decisive advantage into the run and successfully defending it through to the finish.

Together with Dana Soroka, all these athletes competed in the Youth “A” age category.

Among the U23 women, victory went to Anastasiia Snesar of Cherkasy, while the podium was completed by Oleksandra Todorova of Lviv and Sofiia Bahinska of Zhytomyr.

Men’s Race
The men’s race opened at a blistering pace, with seven athletes completing the swimming leg in under four minutes and forty seconds. As a result, the medals were ultimately decided on the run. All three podium finishers covered the running segment in under nine minutes, with Vitalii Vorontsov of Kyiv claiming the national title. Serhii Kostenko of Zaporizhzhia and Ivan Shevchenko from the Donetsk region completed the podium.

In the U23 men’s category, Ivan Shevchenko emerged victorious, followed by Yehor Fokov of Dnipro and Arsen Adamov of Poltava.

Among the junior men, Matvii Malysh of Dnipro took the win, with Markiian Harmatii of Lviv and Zakhar Tsivkovskyi from the Donetsk region finishing as medalists.

Youth Categories
In the Youth “B” age group, the decisive moments were once again reserved for the run. The swim identified the main contenders, and none of them relinquished their positions on the final segment. Victories went to Amina Marchenko of the Cherkasy region and Igor Kyrylovych of Zhytomyr. The medalists included Dariia Zadera of the Cherkasy region and Oleksandra Boronina of Zhytomyr, while among the boys Artem Momot of Poltava and Illia Kvavchenko of Odesa reached the podium.

In the Youth “C” category, victories were claimed by Yaryna Mysishyn and Markiian Pavlyshyn, both representing Lviv.
In the Youth “D” category, champions were Dariia Zavalin of Lviv and Maksym Kyrylovych of Zhytomyr.
