From June 7 to 10, the village of Bojani in the Chernivtsi region hosted the Open Ukrainian Sprint Triathlon Championship. The program also included the national championships in supersprint distances for youth categories “B” and “C”, the Mixed Relay 2×2 for elite, and the mixed relay for juniors and youth.
Women’s Race: Moskalenko Claims the Crown
Dana Soroka from Lviv and Kyiv’s Daryna Moskalenko set a blistering pace in the swim, pursued closely by Donetsk’s Kseniia Levkovska. The chase pack featured Odesa’s Adel Shmanova, Lviv’s Sofiya Pryyma, Donetsk’s Marharyta Menshykova, Zaporizhzhia’s Maryna Sokolova, and Poltava’s Mariia Ivashchenko—all within 30 seconds of the leaders after the swim.
Sofiya Pryyma joined the front, and after a strong bike leg, only Moskalenko remained with her into transition. On the run, Moskalenko surged ahead, breaking away decisively to take the national title. Pryyma held firm for silver, and Levkovska clinched bronze. Rounding out the top five were Menshykova and Soroka. The top 10 included Karyna Yevtushenko (Dnipro), Mariia Ivashchenko, Maryna Sokolova, Daria Berezhna (Cherkasy), and Kateryna Kyrylovych (Zhytomyr).

Men’s Sprint: Vronsov Unleashes, Honcharuk Stuns
Kyiv region’s Oleksii Astafiev Kulish led out of the water, trailed by under 10 seconds by a group including Kyiv’s Vitalii Vorontsov, Poltava’s Arsen Adamov, Lviv’s Markiyan Harmatii, Zaporizhzhia’s Serhii Kostenko, and others. On the bike, Vorontsov launched a solo attack and opened nearly a two-minute lead, then sealed the deal with the fastest run of the day to claim the national championship in dominant style.
The real drama unfolded among the chasers. Ten athletes arrived at T2 together: Astafiev Kulish, Harmatii, Serhii Kostenko, Serhii Badyak, Maksym Nesvat, Zakhar Tsivkovskyi, Vladyslav Mykytenko, Anton Blokhin, Illia Honcharuk, and Ivan Tkachenko.
It was Honcharuk, the junior, who delivered the run of his life, storming to silver in the elite men’s race. Kostenko took bronze. Blokhin and Astafiev-Kulish rounded out the top five. Also finishing in the top 10: Adamov, Harmatii, Valentin Marievskiy (who bridged the gap), Mykytenko, and Nesvat.

U23, Juniors & Youth
Maksym Nesvat led the U23 category, followed by Ivan Tkachenko and Yehor Fokov. Among juniors, Honcharuk and Soroka stood atop the podium, with Mariia Ivashchenko and Kateryna Kyrylovych earning medals on the women’s side, and Adamov and Harmatii among the men.
Supersprint Youth Champions
In Category “B”, Artem Momot (Poltava) and Marchenko Amina (Cherkasy region) claimed gold. Rostyslav Syhiiev (Cherkasy) and Artur Blazhko (Poltava) joined them on the podium, along with Andra Boronina (Zhytomyr) and Dariia Zadera (Cherkasy).
Category “C” champions were Sofiia Nesvat (Cherkasy) and Rostyslav Mykytenko (Poltava), with medals for Mykola Postovyk (Zhytomyr), Zakhar Horenko (Cherkasy), Mariia Diadiura, and Sofiia Sviderska (both Cherkasy).
Relay Highlights
Seven teams contested the adult 2×2 Mixed Relay, where athletes alternate legs of the triathlon twice. Kyiv’s dynamic duo Daryna Moskalenko and Vitalii Vorontsov cruised to victory. Donetsk took both remaining podium spots: Kseniia Levkovska and Zakhar Tsivkovskyi in second, Marharyta Menshykova and Ivan Tkachenko in third.
