Known across South America as the “Garden City,” Viña del Mar once again welcomed the world’s best triathletes for the World Triathlon Cup 2025, a race that has quickly become one of the sport’s most iconic coastal events.

The Chilean city has a rich triathlon heritage — it hosted the World Cup in 2022 and 2023, and its connection to the sport goes even deeper, dating back to the first-ever Americas Cup in 2012, which continues to this day.

Ukraine has its own history here too. In 2022, Kseniia Levkovska delivered an outstanding performance, finishing sixth, and followed that with 21st place at last year’s Americas Cup.

This year, the Ukrainian team was represented by Vitalii Vorontsov, Daryna Moskalenko, and sisters Yeva and Dana Soroka, marking another important step for the nation’s growing presence on the world triathlon stage.

Battling in the Pacific breeze

Vorontsov exited the water with the second chase pack and held his rhythm throughout the bike and run segments, crossing the line in 45th place and improving his World Triathlon Ranking.

Among the women, Daryna Moskalenko was Ukraine’s top finisher, taking 27th place and earning 65 valuable ranking points.
Dana Soroka followed close behind in 29th, while her sister Yeva finished 34th — both showing consistency after competing just a week earlier at the European Cup in Alanya, Turkey. For the Soroka twins, Viña del Mar marked their second career World Cup appearance.

Next stop: San Pedro de la Paz

There’s little time to rest for Team Ukraine. On November 9, the athletes will line up once again — this time in San Pedro de la Paz (Chile) — as they continue their World Cup campaign and push for new milestones on the international circuit.
