From July 25 to 28, the village of Kruglyk (Kyiv region) played host to the Ukrainian National Triathlon Championships over the standard distance and the thrilling mixed team relay for elite athletes.
Men’s Race
Kyiv’s own Vitalii Vorontsov set the tone early, emerging from the water alongside fellow front-runners Oleksii Astafiev-Kulish, Arsen Adamov (Poltava), Serhey Kostenko (Zaporizhzhia), and Dmytro Malyar (Dnipro). But it was Vorontsov, Ukraine’s top-ranked triathlete in the World Triathlon rankings, who broke away on the bike and never looked back, storming to victory with a commanding run.
Behind him, a fierce battle unfolded. Serhey Kostenko and Kyiv’s Anton Blokhin closed in during the bike, with Kostenko clinching silver after holding his lead on the run. Blokhin, despite clawing back a 50-second deficit, had to settle for fourth, edged out by a resurgent Dmytro Malyar. Fifth overall and top among U23 men was Donetsk’s Ivan Shevchenko.

Women’s Race
In the women’s race, Donetsk’s Kseniia Levkovska and Marharyta Menshykova led the field out of the water. But it was Lviv’s Sofiya Pryyma — a powerhouse on two wheels — who surged to the front on the bike leg and held off the chasers with a tactically smart and confident run, securing the national title. Levkovska took silver, Menshykova bronze. Rounding out the top five were junior standout Eva Soroka (Lviv) and Poltava’s Sofiia Bondarenko.

U23 and Junior
In the U23 men’s division, Ivan Shevchenko (Donetsk) topped the podium, with Yegor Fokov (Dnipro) and Maksym Nesvat (Cherkasy) taking second and third.
Among juniors, Arsen Adamov (Poltava) and Eva Soroka (Lviv) claimed gold. Vladyslav Mykytenko and Dmytro Kasyanenko, both from Poltava, earned silver and bronze, while among junior women, Daryna Horb (Poltava) and Kira Agafonova (Donetsk region) stood out with impressive podium finishes. Results
Mixed Relay
Eight teams toed the line in the adult 4-person mixed relay. The Donetsk squad — Levkovska, Zakhar Tsivkovskyi, Menshykova, and Shevchenko — put on a masterclass to clinch the title. The Lviv team (Dana Soroka, Roman Nyzhniov, Sofiya Pryyma, and Markiian Harmatii) secured silver, while Poltava’s contingent (Mariia Ivashchenko, Arsen Adamov, Sofiia Bondarenko, and Vladyslav Mykytenko) brought home bronze.
