Starting on June 13, 2025, a training camp of the national team of Ukraine in triathlon for youth, juniors, and cadets began in Bulgaria. The camp is held jointly with the team from Donetsk region, which, for the fourth consecutive year, has been forced to prepare for international competitions outside their homeland. Bulgaria has become a reliable training base for the athletes during these challenging times.

This is a key stage in preparation for the European Championships for youth, juniors, and cadets, as well as the European Cup for the elite.

Athletes: Ivan Shevchenko, Illia Honcharuk, Ivan Tkachenko, Arsen Adamov, Zakhar Tsivkovskyi, Kira Agafonova, Hlib Yakubets.

At the beginning of the camp, part of the team participated in the Bulgarian Championships in triathlon aquathlon, which took place in the city of Pazardzhik. The winners were: Arsen Adamov among juniors and Zakhar Tsivkovskyi among youth.

Illia Honcharuk became the silver medalist among juniors, and Ivan Tkachenko won bronze in the overall standings.

After two weeks of preparation at the training camp, the team was invited to the city of Stara Zagora to take part in the Bulgarian Championships at the supersprint distance. Here, the Ukrainian athletes also showed strong results:

Zakhar Tsivkovskyi – 1st place among youth

Illia Honcharuk – 2nd place among men

Kira Agafonova – 4th among junior women

Hlib Yakubets – 6th and Arsen Adamov – 7th

It is worth noting that Arsen Adamov was one of the race favorites and was leading after the swim. However, due to the absence of judges at the turnaround point of the cycling stage, he mistakenly rode further than necessary. This unfortunate situation affected the athlete’s final position.
