On April 5–6, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London played host to the Supertri E World Triathlon Championships, as the world’s fastest short-format triathletes descended on the iconic London Aquatics Centre.
This year’s edition brought a thrilling, no-rest structure that demanded endurance, speed, and razor-sharp transitions. The competition was split into two explosive stages: qualification rounds and the grand final.
The qualification format saw athletes complete two back-to-back mini triathlons—swim, bike, run / swim, bike, run—without any pause. Those who earned a spot in the final faced the ultimate test: three triathlons in succession, again with no rest intervals. Unlike last year, there were no breaks between segments, turning each race into an intense endurance sprint.
The top two finishers from each heat automatically advanced to the final, while the remaining four slots were awarded to the fastest overall times. In the men’s field, five finalists came from Heat 1, two from Heat 2, and three from Heat 3. In the women’s draw, three athletes qualified from each of the first two heats and four from the third. The qualification cut-offs were 25:08 for men and 27:47 for women.
🇺🇦 Ukraine’s Vitalii Vorontsov lined up in the second qualification heat, finishing 6th. Though just outside the final cut, he placed 14th overall.
Another E Supertri World Championships has come to an end for me. A fast race with a slightly changed format compared to previous years (all triathlons in a row without rest).
I’m happy with my 14th place. There is a lot of work ahead. Сan’t wait for the next races to see where I am now 🙌
The finals crowned French dominance, with: 🏆 Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger and
🏆 Cassandre Beaugrand clinching the titles.
Joining them on the podium were: ▪️ Luke McCarron (Ireland)
▪️ Maciej Bruzdziak (Poland)
▪️ Beth Potter (Great Britain)
▪️ Julia Brocker (Germany)
