Alisa Kolpakchy Claims Silver at the European Triathlon Para Championships!

On June 14, the European Triathlon Para Championships took place in Besançon, France. Ukrainian athletes competed across three Paralympic classification categories.

In the PTS3 class, Valerii Perekhrest finished seventh, earning 313 points toward the World Ranking. This result lifted him six spots in the standings, placing him 13th overall in the global ranking following the European Championships.

Alisa Kolpakchy secured a silver medal in the PTS5 women’s category. Leading the swim were Marta Dzieciątkowska of Poland and Andrea Miguélez Ranz of Spain. Dzieciątkowska arrived first into transition and maintained her lead through the run. Kolpakchy, who exited the water over three minutes behind, began the run in fourth position but surged past her competitors to finish second at the line!

Alisa concluded the championships ranked seventh in the world, gaining a valuable 462 points.

In the PTVI class, the Ukrainian tandem of Vita Oleksiuk and her guide Nataliia Matsupko exited the water tied for eighth with Britain’s Judith McCombe. The duo pushed forward on the bike to move into seventh place, a position they successfully held through the run.

Vita added 313 points to her world ranking and now stands 15th overall.

Ukraine’s paratriathletes will continue their season at the upcoming World Cup in Tiszaújváros (Tata).
